Lay me down and pull the trigger

Over the years I’ve found Drum and Bass great to listen to at a club but not so much at home. The rapid-fire beats and snares of the early D n’ B sound didn’t always work for me when there weren’t strobe lights and a large quantity of alcohol involved. That changed when I took a nasty spill during an afternoon run and almost snapped my ankle. I wound up stuck in my apartment for two weeks with nothing to do but play video games and and chomp pain medication. For some strange reason the strobing lights of the Sega Saturn (yes, I was one of the 183 proud owners of a Saturn) and some prescription pain meds screamed out for a serious high BPM soundtrack. Breakbeat Era’s Ultra-Obscene seemed tailored to my exact need. I recall playing an entire 162 game season of World Series Baseball in little more than a week and a half with this as the soundtrack. (FYI - You can pick up a used copy of this from Amazon for under a buck - it’s well worth it.)
