Once I believed you had the healing touch

Australia’s Boxcar was a lot of fun while they lasted. It was easy to ignore them because they sounded so much like New Order. There were many bands finding their sound in the nineties and exploring with keyboards. I guess the dour, depressing lyrics and vocalist David Smith really, really, really, REALLY sounded like Bernard Sumner. I snapped up their one release and always enjoyed it. The process of getting a second album must have been slow because instead of a second proper album their label released a remix collection just two years later. A remix album… for a band with one album to their credit. Yikes. Overall Revision wasn’t bad but it didn’t make any new fans of the band. This remix always stand out for me because it was played at every big dance party/rave I went to for two years running. It seemed like I’d walk in the door and the opening keyboard sweeps would kick in. It was a little creepy after the fourth time. So, tune in, flash back and pretend you’ve got a tab of E on your tongue and a smart drink in your hand.
