Freedom! Freedom!

I saw Incredible Force of Junior play a show in Boston on a random Wednesday night opening for a friend’s band and was floored by how great they were. I also don’t mind mentioning I developed the biggest crush on the bass player. I bought a stack of singles and their CD that night, then drove to Rhode Island to see them play the next night (with Bunnygrunt!) It was blissful.

A friend of mine lived in Seattle so I used the excuse of visiting him to see the band play at an indiepop fest in ‘96 or so for what was probably their last show. They were great live, with more flailing and wailing than on their recorded material. They were a little out of place with all the twee pop stuff on the bill but it was nice to pogo around and slam into a bunch of fey kids who just wanted to stand in place and moon at each other. (I didn’t make a lot of friends that day, I specifically recall overhearing “That jerk almost broke my glasses!”)

IFOJ cranked out a bunch of 45’s and split vinyl releases but this is the only full length CD of their material that I know of. Enjoy!
