If this isn’t jazz

Since I’m starting on a Sunday night I can slide in an old favorite - “If this isn’t jazz” by Patricia Barber. It’s a live track from her 1999 disc “Companion.” Heard one way it’s a stream of consciousness response to her critics but as time goes on it becomes more abstract. I had the good fortune of seeing Barber perform in a small club in Austin years back and my only disappointment was that she didn’t play this song.

For those who don’t want to bother tracking down this live EP, this track was included on the massive compilation The Premonition Years: 1994-2002. Enjoy.
